LRW’s Pinecone solution is a software-based, secure data platform. Pinecone uses FIPS 140-2 certified AES 256 bit encryption for data at rest and data in transit between an enterprise-based server solution and a secure, partitioned application on a user’s device, such as an, iPhone, iPad, Android Smartphone, or PockePC.

Pinecone is more than just messaging software that offers encrypted e-mail, calendar, and contacts to lightweight clients such as PDAs and cellular phones. It secures both data at rest (email messages, calendar entries, meetings, appointments, contacts, etc) and data in transit (communications between a messaging and collaboration server connector and secure “sandboxed” application on the device). Pinecone allows users to enjoy all of the dynamic features of their device, while maintaining a separate and encrypted portion of the phone for all enterprise-centric information.

In addition to providing secure email, calendar and contacts, Pinecone delivers the ability for organizations to fully utilize the power of intelligent devices by enabling organizations to access their legacy systems and develop “in-house” applications utilizing Pinecone’s secure data transport and sandbox.
